Wahl correction factor, abbreviated as K, also called Wahl stress factor or spring stress correction factor, is a method to find out the effect of direct sheat and change in coil curvature in a spring.

## formulas that use Wahl correction factor

 $$\large{ K = \frac{ 4\;C \;-\; 1 }{ 4\;C \;-\; 4 } + \frac{ 0.615 }{ C } }$$

### Where:

$$\large{ K }$$ = stress correction factor

$$\large{ C }$$ = spring index
