Spring constant, abbreviated as $$k_s$$, is the quantity that specifies the stiffness of a spring.

Spring Constant formula

$$\large{ k_s = - F_s \; d_s }$$

$$\large{ k_s = \frac {F_s} {d_s} }$$

$$\large{ k_s = \frac {2 \; E_s}{ d_{s}{^2} } }$$

Where:

$$\large{ k_s }$$ = spring constant

$$\large{ d_s }$$ = spring displacement

$$\large{ E_s }$$ = spring energy

$$\large{ F_s }$$ = spring force (applied force)
