Sherwood number, abbreviated as Sh, is a dimensionless number that is the ratio between convective mass transfer and diffusive mass transfer.

Where:

\(\large{ Sh }\) = Sherwood number

\(\large{ l_c }\) = characteristic length

\(\large{ D }\) = diffusion coefficient
