Chezy Formula

Chezy formula, abbreviated as Ch, applies to the steady velocity with turbulent flow in a open channel.

Chezy Formula

\(\large{ v =  C \; \sqrt  {  r_h \; m }   }\)

Where:

\(\large{ v }\) = flow velocity

\(\large{ C }\) = Chezy coefficient

\(\large{ r_h }\) = hydraulic radius

\(\large{ m }\) = slope

 Solve for:

\(\large{ r_h = \frac{1}{m} \; \left(  \frac{v}{C}  \right)^2  }\)

\(\large{ m = \frac{1}{r_h} \; \left(  \frac{v}{C}  \right)^2  }\)
