# Hydraulic Head

Hydraulic head, abbreviated as h, is the measurement mechanical energy due to pressure of a fluid from a higher elevation to a lower elevation. It is measured in feet or meters of water. This calculation converts pounds per square inch or Pascal into feet or meters of head.

## Hydraulic Head Formula\(\large{ h = \frac {p}{g \; \rho} }\) Where: \(\large{ h }\)= head \(\large{ \rho }\) (Greek symbol rho) = density \(\large{ g }\) = gravitational acceleration \(\large{ p }\) = pressure |
