Hydraulic head, abbreviated as h, is the measurement mechanical energy due to pressure of a fluid from a higher elevation to a lower elevation. It is measured in feet or meters of water. This calculation converts pounds per square inch or Pascal into feet or meters of head.

Where:

$$\large{ h }$$= head

$$\large{ \rho }$$  (Greek symbol rho) = density

$$\large{ g }$$ = gravitational acceleration

$$\large{ p }$$ = pressure
